Bringing amazing art from around the world to the Glasstown Arts District in Millville, NJ.

Let me introduce myself and my gallery

My name is Tania Pomales.  I have been an artist in New Jersey for over ten years, painting works in lowbrow and pop surrealism styles. I have exhibited in galleries across the United States, such as the Dark Art Emporium (California), Cactus Gallery (California), Limner Gallery (New York), and Slushbox Gallery (Florida), for example.  For the past five years, I have owned and operated a studio in the Millville Glasstown Arts district. This is a wonderful community of artists, creators, collectors, and entrepreneurs. Lining the sidewalks of High Street are several prominent galleries and shops such as the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, La Bottega of Art, and the Village on High to name a few.  There are also a variety of great places to eat and grab a drink, such as The Oar House or Bogart’s Bookstore and Cafe. This city is undergoing a very positive and progressive transformation. Through Calvaria Gallery and Studio, I would like to invite you to participate in this moment of growth in the art community here in Millville.

Calvaria Gallery and Studio focuses on giving a voice and a venue for lowbrow, pop surrealism, and dark arts.  Yet, don’t let that confine you in a box with certain labels. Art takes on many forms, and that is why from time to time Calvaria will also host shows that step out of the aforementioned genres of art.  I believe good art exists across a very wide spectrum, and it is my duty and dream as director of Calvaria to connect these artworks with the souls that want to bring them home. This will be a gallery that goes against the grain in all the best ways, but will always remain true to its essence.

The Calvaria Invitational will display the artworks of a small group of artists who exhibit a true entrepreneurial spirit to celebrate the dreamers and the doers that reside in the souls of all of us.  These artists have shown that dedication, perseverance, and passion for their art is their lifeblood and their purpose. Therefore, I want to show you the amazing talent and vision they have, and I hope that these amazing people inspire you to be who you truly are in the world.

I want to thank you for embarking on this journey with me as Calvaria Gallery and Studio brings more great art to New Jersey from local and international artists, making this venue a special treasure in the heart of the Glasstown Arts District.
